My lifelong interest in the healing arts has exposed me to a variety of philosophies and healing techniques. I graduated from BMSI Institute of Massage in Overland Park, Kansas, where I first became conscious of the mind-body connection. Working with my clients in Kansas City, I became more curious about how intentional, compassionate touch of the physical body affected emotions. I pursued my interest in mind-body healing and furthered my studies at Naropa University in Boulder, CO, graduating with an M.A. in Body Psychotherapy.
My studies created a framework from which I began to work with clients as whole beings, rather than focusing on isolated parts of the mind and body. I continued my studies with Hakomi Training, a Body Psychotherapy modality developed by Ron Kurtz. Through my studies with Hakomi, I further realized that client self-exploration in the presence of a curious and compassionate therapist benefits the healing process while empowering the client.
While finishing my Hakomi training, I became ill and needed physiological support. I booked my first Acutonics® treatment as an adjunct therapy regarding this health and spiritual crisis. Acutonics® offered a non-invasive, physical intervention that was supportive to me and empowered me to feel I could navigate this crisis with grace and ease.
Because of the transformative experience I had as a client, I chose to study this modality and become an Acutonics® practitioner. Acutonics® has integrated my accumulative training into a package that offers compassion, support and a stimulus for higher change. It is my privilege to work with clients during their transitions and my intention is to nurture one's experience of wholeness.
